Planability’s Sourcing Control System was developed for UK based companies involved in outsourcing all or part of their production from overseas.

The key to its success is the coordination of the efforts of many people in distant locations, often in different time zones. At the outset, a template of activities can be applied to each new order and the overall supply plan built up. This plan is then broken down by the system to allocate responsibilities to individuals and to provide a mechanism for continuous remote updating of the tasks.

Warnings and escalation rules may be applied so that potential problems are identified and handled before they hurt the business.

Tasks typically include design, product development, sampling, purchasing, basic planning and production activities and as much detail as is required through to delivery.
